Manila, Jan. 8 -- The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has ordered the review of the PHP20 billion worth of education subsidy grants under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) after the Commission on Audit (COA) flagged the agency's non-liquidation and delay in submission of reports on the program.

In a statement on Thursday, CHED Chairperson Shirley Agrupis vowed to cooperate with other agencies for the necessary procedures and investigation on the matter.

"I have directed the concerned offices in the Commission to study the report assiduously, to trace the anomalous payments, if any, of those funds transferred to various HEIs (higher education institutions), and to identify the persons responsible for breaches of applicable laws...
