Manila, April 9 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on Filipinos to actively support and take pride in local food products, emphasizing the importance of championing homegrown businesses to drive the nation's economic growth.

Speaking at the Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair on Wednesday, Marcos urged Filipinos to recognize the brilliance of the country's culinary heritage as he acknowledged the Filipino Food Month celebration this April.

"This April, we are celebrating the Filipino Food Month, an important occasion where we honor valued traditions passed down through generations, reflecting our identity as Filipinos through the food that we prepare and enjoy," Marcos said.
