Manila, April 30 -- The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 (Central Visayas) said Wednesday the region's crime rate decreased by 27.54 percent from Jan. 1 to April 25, compared to the same period in 2024.
In a statement, PRO-7 Director, Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, said the regional police office tallied 742 crimes, 282 cases lower than the 1,024 incidents in the same period last year.
Index crimes involve those committed against persons such as murder, homicide, physical injury and rape, and crimes against property, such as robbery, theft, and car and motorcycle theft.
