Manila, Jan. 15 -- The death toll from the Binaliw sanitary landfill trash slide has climbed to 22, with 14 people still missing as of 8 a.m. Thursday, according to a report by the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).
At least 18 others were injured and are receiving medical treatment, while search, rescue, and retrieval operations are ongoing.
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has been assisting ground operations since Jan. 9, following the incident, through its 505th Search and Rescue Group, providing manpower in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 7, which leads on-site operations.
