Manila, Feb. 14 -- The local police here has set up 30 outposts in strategic spots across the city center as part of the measures to deter all forms of criminality.

Col. Enrico Figueroa, chief of the Cebu City Police Office, said each outpost will be manned by two police officers, with one officer serving as outpost sentinel while the other conducts patrolling around the area of their coverage.

"We deploy these outposts at the critical points in Cebu City. As of now, we have 30 outposts manned by PNP (Philippine National Police) personnel equipped with blinkers, megaphones and radio communications," Figueroa told local media Friday.
