Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- Churches under the Archdiocese of Cebu are ready to accommodate people who will be affected by Typhoon Tino.

"As Archbishop of Cebu, I have directed all priests to open the churches within the archdiocese as shelters for those seeking refuge during the storm, Cebu Archbishop Alberto Uy said in a social media post Monday.

He pointed out, however, that only churches that were not damaged by the recent earthquake, may accept evacuees.

Uy also asked the people to pray.

"Please stay safe and keep everyone in your prayers," he said.
