Manila, March 3 -- The City Veterinary Office (CVO) launched a high-density rabies vaccination drive on Monday, aiming to vaccinate 80 to 100 percent of cats and dogs across all 80 villages.
Dr. Rod Grayson Baylo, CVO resident veterinarian, said the campaign targets communities with cases of animal bites in 2024.
The initiative is part of Rabies Awareness Month and will include ground operations led by Dr. Jeff Velasco, another CVO veterinarian.
"The high-density vaccination focuses on areas with a history of animal bites to prevent further incidents," Baylo said during the launch at city hall.
The vaccination drive will run for three months.
