Manila, July 3 -- Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. on Thursday expressed full support to the planned integration of his agency with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla earlier announced a plan to integrate the BuCor and BJMP, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to streamline resources and address jail congestion.
