Manila, Nov. 4 -- Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Tuesday thanked Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima for recognizing her potential to lead the Department of Justice (DOJ) but clarified she has no plans to seek the position.

In a Palace press briefing, Castro was flattered by de Lima's "kind words" after describing her as "one of the best choices" for the DOJ.

Castro, however, maintained that she is not eyeing the post.

"Maraming salamat sa pagku-konsidera sa akin pero hinid po talaga tayo naga-apply para maging SOJ (Thank you very much for considering me, but I am not actually applying to be [Secretary of Justice])," she said.
