Manila, April 1 -- The Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13) has developed a security plan to ensure the safety of tourists visiting the region during the summer vacation.

At least 1,682 personnel will be deployed to secure destinations while 77 assistance desks will be established at various strategic points in the region to provide security and assistance to commuters and tourists.

PRO-13 will implement mandatory security checks.

"Aside from the number of police personnel, we will also receive support from the other security sector in the region and force multipliers in the cities and municipalities," PRO-13 information office chief Maj. Jennifer Omiter said in an interview Tuesday.
