Manila, Feb. 11 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday reminded aspirants for the March 14 special polls in the 2nd District of Antipolo City that the 30-day campaign period starts on Thursday.

In an interview, Comelec chairperson George Garcia said certain prohibitions would be in effect such as the giving away of money, oversized posters, among others.

"But those in private places... will be respected by the Comelec. We will not prohibit it, because in the end, the consent of the owner of the premises is needed. So long as the owner of the private property allows it, we cannot stop it even if it is large in size," he added.
