Manila, Nov. 3 -- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) placed all airports and offices under its supervision on heightened alert in preparation for Typhoon Tino.
CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario ordered all area center managers and airport managers in potentially affected regions to ensure the readiness of airport facilities, equipment and personnel.
"All airports under CAAP jurisdiction have been instructed to secure communication and navigational equipment, readiness of emergency response teams, and coordinate with airlines and local authorities for possible flight disruptions or cancellations," Del Rosario said in a statement.
