Manila, Jan. 5 -- All passengers and crew are safe after an aircraft encountered a technical issue at Siquijor Airport on Monday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

As of this writing, CAAP has yet to receive the passenger count for Sunlight Air Flight RLB 876 from Mactan, Cebu.

The plane "experienced a nose landing gear tire deflation during landing," CAAP said.

"The aircraft deviated from the runway centerline and came to a stop on the runway," it added.

In a statement, CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario said the incident is now being assessed.

"We have activated the standard airport safety and recovery procedures," del Rosario said.
