Manila, Jan. 2 -- The Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) arrested eight most-wanted persons (MWPs) in the region on Jan. 1, an official said Friday.

"While many were celebrating the New Year with their families, police work continues without pause. Our personnel remained on the ground, carrying out their duty," PRO-3 Director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Penones Jr. said in a statement.

Penones said that among those arrested in Nueva Ecija were two MWPs at the regional level.

Six provincial-level MWPs, along with several fugitives at the municipal and city levels in the provinces of Bataan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija, were also arrested on the same day, he added.
