Manila, Feb. 28 -- The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has released a total of 793 qualified persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from Jan. 31 to Feb. 28, bringing to 19,740 the number of PDLs released under the Marcos administration.

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. led the culmination activity for 182 of the released PDLs at the BuCor headquarters in Muntinlupa City on Friday.

"Aside from the DOJ's commitment to deliver real justice for all in real time, morality and conscience dictates that it is incumbent upon this government to ensure that this justice we are upholding is also compassionate and humane in the highest degree," Remulla said in his message.
