Manila, March 31 -- The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has released a total of 1,058 qualified persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from March 1 -31, bringing to 20,629 the number of PDLs released under the Marcos administration.
Justice Undersecretary Deo Marco, representing Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, and BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. led the culmination activity for 188 of the released PDLs at the BuCor headquarters in Muntinlupa City on Monday.
In his message, Marco emphasized the importance of embracing second chances, urging the newly freed individuals to rebuild their lives positively and aim for personal transformation.
