MANILA, Nov. 27 -- The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) to modernize its procurement processes and align them with the government's development goals.
The agreement was signed Wednesday by BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. and PITC acting President and chief executive officer Mary Tong.
In a news release Thursday, Catapang said the initiative is part of a broader journey to elevate BuCor's systems to meet global standards, integrating countertrade provisions that ensure procurement is not just transactional, but transformative.
