Manila, Jan. 16 -- Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. on Friday called for "interagency unity and operational readiness" among the emergency response units that were formally activated to secure the country's hosting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit 2026.
Brawner made this comment during the activation ceremonies for Joint Task Group on Emergency Preparedness and Response (JTGEPR) that took place in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City and spearheaded by the Department of National Defense on Friday.
The event brought together key agencies to strengthen coordination for large-scale emergencies during the ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings.
