Manila, April 3 -- The city government of Borongan in Eastern Samar has started the flood control project using the PHP118 million People's Survival Fund (PSF) approved over a year ago.
Dubbed "Reinforcement of Lo-om River Flood Protection System and Redevelopment for Resilient Communities and Livelihood," the project seeks to protect its surrounding communities from floods and "support their livelihood needs as a means to obtain collective resilience."
Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda, in a statement on Thursday, thanked the PSF for recognizing the project's value and projected impacts on the local community.
