Manila, Jan. 14 -- Over PHP61 billion of worth of illicit goods were seized in 2025, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported Wednesday.
In a statement, the Bureau said a total of 1,024 enforcement operations were conducted last year, which resulted in the seizure of banned items.
Based on preliminary data, the most significant seizures in 2025 include PHP28.47 billion worth of general commodities, PHP17.72 billion in counterfeit goods, PHP5.63 billion in dangerous drugs, PHP4.80 billion in wildlife and natural resources, and PHP1.86 billion in tobacco products.
The BOC carried out 85 seizure operations involving agricultural products, resulting in the confiscation of over PHP622 million worth of smuggled agricultural goods.
