Manila, Jan. 7 -- Revenue collection posted a surplus of PHP17 billion year on year after collecting more than PHP934 billion in 2025, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported on Wednesday.

Preliminary figures from January to December 2025 show that the BOC generated approximately PHP934.400 billion in revenues, exceeding the same period's collection in 2024 by 1.9 percent, or PHP17.726 billion. The 2024 collection was at PHP916.674 billion.

The BOC said the growth was achieved despite challenges, including the lower import volumes, the suspension of rice importation, and global commodity price fluctuations.
