Manila, Sept. 5 -- The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on Friday carried out a joint "greyhound operation" at the Brooke's Point District Jail to ensure the facility remains free of illegal items.
Dubbed "Oplan Linis Piitan", the surprise inspection formed part of the BJMP's continuing campaign to rid jails of contraband such as drugs, firearms, and unauthorized communication devices.
Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo, BJMP Mimaropa regional information officer, said the operation yielded no prohibited items - a sign that strict safeguards inside the district jail are working.
