Manila, March 7 -- Senatorial aspirant Abby Binay on Friday stressed the need to strengthen weather forecasting in order to help farmers adapt to extreme climate conditions.
Speaking at a press conference in Camarines Sur alongside fellow candidates from the administration-backed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas, Binay said outdated systems and reduced funding for reliable forecasting have left the agricultural sector vulnerable.
Binay said better climate predictions could prevent agricultural losses.
