Manila, Sept. 16 -- Local chief executives in Bicol Region welcomed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s move requiring local government unit (LGU) clearance for an infrastructure project before they can be considered completed.
Legazpi City Mayor Hisham Ismail said the directive would promote transparency and ensure accurate fund utilization.
"The funds will be used correctly, and the needs of the citizens will receive the proper funding. We will have oversight through our city engineering department and the public will be able to verify that the projects meet the necessary standards before being accepted," he said.
