Manila, March 3 -- The Philippine National Police, through the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit in Bicol (RACU-5), urged the public to be vigilant against crimes in cyberspace even as they continue to conduct various activities to ensure the public is informed.

In an interview on Monday, RACU-05 officer Staff Sgt. Levelyn Balin said 45 cases have been logged so far this year.

There were 228 cases in 2002; 175 in 2023; and 178 in 2024.

"We go to different schools to provide lectures on what students and teachers should do if they become victims and to prevent being one. We also coordinate with village officials to help us disseminate the information to the communities. We distribute flyers and visit agencies," Balin said.
