LEGAZPI CITY, Dec. 3 -- The Bicol Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is on red alert status in preparation for the possible impact of a low pressure area (LPA) with a high potential to develop into a tropical cyclone.
Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Claudio Yucot said Wednesday the raising of alert status from blue is necessary to provide time to prepare for the LPA, which will be named Wilma once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next 24 hours.
During the pre-disaster risk assessment on Tuesday, cluster members regularly report on the status and updates in every province.
