Manila, Feb. 20 -- The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) reported on Thursday that recorded crimes in the region have decreased compared to the same period last year.
PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon said that 1,636 crimes were recorded in January 2025, down from the 1,883 cases in January 2024.
Dizon said the decline in the crime rate was attributed to enhanced police visibility and intensified law enforcement operations, which have proven effective in preventing crime.
