Manila, June 23 -- Two women believed to be victims of trafficking were recently stopped from boarding their flight to Singapore at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City.
In a news release on Monday, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said its Immigration Protection and Border Enforcement Section (I-PROBES) stopped the two women, aged 32 and 48, from boarding their flight on June 18 after discrepancies were noted during the initial inspection.
"Both were intercepted early during primary inspection due to their inability to answer basic travel questions, conflicting travel itineraries, and inconsistent statements, which led to their referral for secondary inspection," the BI said.
