Manila, Feb. 17 -- Lorenzo Juan "LJ" Sumulong III has backed out from the special polls to represent the Second District of Antipolo at the House of Representatives (HOR).

In a social media post, the congressional aspirant from the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) has decided to withdraw his candidacy for the March 14 special polls.

"To my fellow countrymen in the Second District of Antipolo. I am announcing my decision not to pursue my candidacy as Representative of the Second District of Antipolo in the coming election," he said in a Facebook post on Monday.
