Manila, Nov. 17 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has accepted the "out-of-delicadeza" resignations of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Malacanang announced Monday.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the two Cabinet officials stepped down after their departments were mentioned in ongoing investigations into alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

"Both officials respectfully offered and tendered their resignations out of delicadeza," Castro said, adding that the gesture recognizes "the responsibility to allow the administration to address the matter appropriately."

Finance Secretary Ralph Recto has been named the new Executive Secretary.
