Manila, Sept. 16 -- Reymark Begornia and Jemyca Aribado lived up to expectations by dominating their respective divisions in the just-concluded Philippine National Squash Championships at the National Squash Center inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
No. 1 Begornia claimed the men's elite title, bouncing back in the last two sets to prevail over second seed David William Pelino, 11-3, 6-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6, after 43 minutes.
"I'm happy and blessed for winning my second national title. It was a tough match," said Begornia in an interview Tuesday morning.
He beat Meljohn Arebado (11-4, 11-8, 11-3) in the second round and Christopher Buraga (11-7, 11-7, 11-5) in the semifinal.
