Manila, Feb. 18 -- The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) is urging drone operators to obtain an authorization from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) before flying the gadget, especially in populated areas, to avoid accidents.

Col. Ruel Tagel, BCPO director, on Tuesday said they are only allowing a few drones during the Panagbenga grand parades to avoid incidents that can harm spectators.

He said that drone owners and operators who want to fly the gadget during the event are mandated to first obtain an authorization ensuring that they are knowledgeable on operating it safely.
