Manila, Sept. 11 -- A police officer in Bataan has drawn praise for his quick response and compassion after helping a woman safely deliver a baby during an emergency rescue in Orani town on Wednesday.

In a report Thursday, Bataan Provincial Police chief Col. Marites Salvadora said the Orani Municipal Police Station received a 911 call about a woman in urgent need of assistance at Sitio Alikabok, Barangay Bayan. Responding officers aboard Mobile 1, led by Police M/Sgt. Ronald Imperial, rushed to the scene, where they found a 30-year-old pregnant woman with a mental disability already in labor under a tree.
