Manila, Aug. 28 -- Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua on Thursday signed a Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) bill into law that reconstituted the parliamentary districts in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Posted in the Bangsamoro Official Gazette, Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 77 was signed 44 days before the first-ever parliamentary elections on Oct. 13.

The law, entitled "An Act Reconstituting the Parliamentary Districts in the BARMM," amends BAA No. 58 to redistribute the seven parliamentary district seats originally allotted to Sulu. The change follows a Supreme Court ruling that excluded the province from the BARMM.
