Manila, March 19 -- A ballet school is expected to rise in the province of Ilocos Norte to help develop and inspire a new breed of dancers.
This comes after 20 students of the Wilbur Go Elementary School in Currimao, Ilocos Norte participated in a "ballet brigade," an outreach program of Ballet Philippines, the country's leading professional classical and contemporary dance institution.
Ranz Damian, marketing associate of Ballet Philippines, said in a media interview Tuesday that as part of their corporate social responsibility, they are reaching out to more kids in underserved communities to make ballet accessible to everyone.
"Ballet has been a part of our culture. It is a tool to communicate our culture," Damian said.
