Manila, May 13 -- Baguio City election officer, lawyer John Paul Martin, said they were able to showcase the peaceful and orderly conduct of the balloting process in the city to foreign observers.
Martin said the six observers were from the European Union and the Asian Network for Free Election.
He said the foreign observers saw that the candidates trusted the entire voting process and readily conceded defeat.
"More importantly, the electoral process in Baguio is not the cause of division among community members. That is why during the campaign period, we always encourage our aspirants to promote themselves and their platforms in the campaign and avoid mudslinging," Martin said.
