Manila, Dec. 30 -- The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), in coordination with barangay officials, is intensifying the city government's campaign against the use and sale of firecrackers and pyrotechnics to prevent accidents during the New Year festivities.
"We have been ordered to ensure strict compliance with the ordinance," BCPO Director Col. Ruel Tagel said in a media interview on Tuesday.
Tagel was referring to City Ordinance 53-2009, which prohibits the sale and use of firecrackers and pyrotechnics within Baguio City to ensure public safety.
