Manila, Jan. 29 -- The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as a bloc "as of now" is not recognizing the recently concluded elections held in Myanmar, said Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro on Thursday,

In a press briefing immediately after the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat in Cebu, Lazaro said the bloc would have to hold more meetings and consultations to deal with the subject of a new Myanmar government.

During the retreat, Myanmar's representative stated that the polls were "very peaceful" and that a good number of people participated.
