Manila, Jan. 28 -- The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Wednesday held an informal meeting on the implementation of the Myanmar peace plan and affirmed its "collective resolve" to find a lasting solution to the crisis in the country.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro, the Philippine ASEAN chair special envoy to Myanmar, led the consultations among top Southeast Asian diplomats on the Five-Point Consensus in Myanmar on the sidelines of the ASEAN meetings at the Nustar Hotel in Cebu City.
Lazaro, in a post on X, said the 11 member states have "discussed ways forward," and reaffirmed ASEAN's "collective resolve in finding a peaceful and lasting solution that is Myanmar-owned and Myanmar-led."
