Manila, Sept. 22 -- An estimated 5,000 families, equivalent to 14,000 individuals have been preemptively evacuated in four regions in Luzon amid the threat of Super Typhoon Nando, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said Monday.

Interviewed during Integrated State Media's special coverage on Nando aired on PTV-4, OCD spokesperson Junie Castillo said these families are from the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Castillo said these figures are based on their monitoring as of Monday morning.
