Manila, Oct. 28 -- The Army's 101st Infantry Brigade (101st IBde) in Basilan clarified Tuesday that the ongoing incident in Tipo-Tipo town is rido-related violence between "local parties," not a siege as previously reported online.

Brig. Gen. Fredrick Sales, commander of the 101st IBde, did not specify the exact individuals involved in the atrocities, only mentioning members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) as the warring groups.

The fighting broke out around 7 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay Poblacion, Tipo-Tipo, a day after tensions gripped the municipality.
