Manila, March 26 -- April 3 will be a special non-working day for Albayanos in celebration of the province's founding anniversary known as "Albay Day."

The holiday is pursuant to Republic Act 1119 principally authored by Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Sarte Salceda and signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Oct. 30, 2018.

In an interview on Wednesday, Dorothy Colle, Albay Provincial Tourism, Culture and Arts Office chief, said there would be no work both in government and private offices, and no school for both private and public schools in the entire province of Albay.
