Manila, May 2 -- In a strong push to protect communities from the harmful effects of disinformation, the Antique Provincial Police Office (APPO) has pledged its full support to the national campaign against fake news through the newly launched "War for Truth" under the Joint Anti-Fake News Action Committee (JAFNAC).

APPO Director Col. Lea Rose Pena said the local police is intensifying efforts to monitor and report false content circulating online, especially on social media, in line with the Philippine National Police's broader mission to safeguard truth and transparency.

"We (APPO) will not allow wrong perceptions to prevail," she said during a Zoom forum attended by police and media personnel hosted from Camp Crame in Quezon City.
