Manila, June 11 -- The Commission on Human Rights in Western Visayas (CHR 6) has urged child development workers (CDWs) in Antique to be protection advocates.

CHR 6 Human Rights Promotion Division chief Christopher Montano said as advocates, they can remind local councils for the protection of children (LCPC) to operationalize the laws safeguarding them.

"Be the conscience and mouthpiece for the protection of the children," said Montano, who is the vice chair of the sub-committee for the welfare of children of the Regional Development Council, in his message during the CDW Congress at the San Remigio Evacuation Center, in San Remigio, Antique, on Wednesday.
