Manila, May 29 -- The Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) said Thursday the repatriation of former lawmaker Arnolfo Teves Jr. substantiates the country's commitment against terrorism and impunity.
"This return (of Teves) marks a crucial development in our nation's fight against terrorism, impunity, and politically motivated violence," the council said in a statement.
"We commend the Government of Timor-Leste for recognizing the seriousness of the charges and their potential impact on regional stability. Their decision aligns with the spirit of international cooperation and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) solidarity in upholding the rule of law."
