Manila, Feb. 7 -- The provincial government is targeting to vaccinate 257,534 heads or 70 percent of the 367,907 dog inventory in the province in the next three months.

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Darel Tabuada said in an interview on Friday that the program was launched on Feb. 4 in the municipality of Lambunao.

The same as last year, the provincial government is targeting to vaccinate 70 percent of the province's dog population.

Tabuada said the provincial government provided 60 percent of the vaccine requirements of the local government units. The 40 percent will be procured by the municipalities or the city.

He said the province is also ready to procure more vaccines when needed, depending on the outcome of the immunization.
