Manila, March 7 -- As the nation celebrates National Women's Month, senatorial candidates of Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas on Friday underscored the importance of women's contributions to society and the need for stronger policies to ensure gender equality and protection for women.
In a press conference held at Camarines Sur Watersports Complex in Pili town, former Senate president Vicente Sotto III recognized the role of women in shaping the country, citing his late mother, Dr. Hermina Castelo-Sotto, as a pioneer in advocating for women's rights.
