Manila, Sept. 3 -- All 191 passengers and eight crew members of Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight PR 412 bound for Osaka, Japan are safe as the plane returned to Manila due to a pressurization issue, the airline announced on Wednesday.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, the flight departed from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 9:26 a.m. and landed safely at the airport at 11:15 a.m.

PAL, in a statement, said the flight, utilizing an A321CEO aircraft, experienced a pressurization issue at 10:08 a.m.

"In accordance with safety protocols, the flight crew initiated a descent to a lower altitude and declared an emergency as a precautionary measure," PAL said.
