Manila, July 14 -- The local government unit of Albuera, Leyte, under Mayor Kerwin Espinosa, is serious about ridding the town of illegal drugs, a local official said on Monday.

Leah Tamse, program manager of the community-based drug rehabilitation program, said Espinosa will regularly conduct random drug testing among elected officials and local government employees to ensure a drug-free workplace.

"Mayor Espinosa issued an executive order for the conduct of regular program random drug tests. I am happy that this is one of the priority programs of the local government, ensuring a workplace that is free from illegal drugs or none of its employees are into illegal drug use," Tamse said in a phone interview.
