Manila, Dec. 10 -- The provincial government of Albay allocated PHP10 million for the purchase of medicines for hospitals managed by the local government unit.
Governor Noel Rosal said the move ensures a continuous supply of medicines in government health facilities, particularly as the end of the year approaches.
"With the year coming to a close and our budgets running low, we have proactively purchased PHP10 million worth of medicines," he said.
The provincial government manages eight government hospitals throughout the province.
Rosal said the move addresses the persistent issue of medicine shortages in hospitals.
He noted that it is part of the provincial government's ongoing commitment to provide quality medical services.
